Dog Bones

I want to lower my 2001 KDX about 2". Does anybody know how long to make the dog bones. It has stock 112.5mm on now. I can make my own at work. Thanks ahead of time. Dan

I wish I could help ,but I can't. I know a guy that gained 40 pounds and it
lowered his bike 2 1/2 inches, the truth...

Doubt it...

..that you'll get that much out of the pull rods.

NOTE: The Kouba links that will drop the bike the amount you are after ALSO limit the load of the bike to 130#!!

I still say...you won't get that much (drop) out of a pull rod reman.

Devol's rods are +/- 1.5 mm from OEM. I have mine on the 'long' side, which lowered the seat heighth something like 3/8" or so.

Michelle has a set of 115s on her bike. Ask her to be sure..but seems that lowered her bike quite a bit less than an inch.

To lower it 2", you'll need to have the shock worked on..have a spacer put in to limit it's travel.

Which of course also cuts down on the TOTAL amount of travel you'll have...which you'll regret, imo.

Ride it for awhile before you start changing it. Mine sure was 'too tall!!' at the start..but you get used to it.

'Sides...you don't need your feet touching the ground for anyway;)
