I was wondering how many members have dogs. Let me throw in my chips. I've got a Soft-Coated-Wheaten-Terrier named Oscar. He is completely antisocial, he spends 20 hours a day in his room. He has almost ripped my best friend's nose off, and bit a neighbor's friend's leg. So, what do you have?

LMAO!! :)

I have 2 Wheatens! They're 10 years old, brother & sister.

How old is Oscar?

Ours are pretty good dogs for the most part. I mean take out the fact they still slip in & out of being house trained, they attack the front door anytime someone gets within 100 yards of the house, the have perpetual allergies & ear goop and are THE most expensive to get groomed out of all the other dogs on our groomers list...they're not all the bad! :D The male is pretty good natured these days (my buddy), loves to play, not really aggressive at all. The female is moody, sleeps 22 hours a day, growls & nips at everyone that comes through the door...even people she see's weekly, but will then go sit on their lap while they're at the house. Then resume the attack mode when they get ready to leave. She is fine with us and very loving, but needless to say, she's a trip.

Oscar is 4 years old. And you are right, they are expensive (almost as expensive as our bikes). He cost $1500 (championship pedigree), and we pay $150 every six weeks.

I have 2 dogs.

Zuess, an imported Rotti. Championship bloodlines all the way. Sweet and loving but dumb as a rock. The back yard is secure. He thinks he is still a puppy and tries to crawl in your lap. Not very nice to strangers.

And Ceasar. The absolute coolest dog ever(in my opinion). Does not bark for no good reason. Loves people and kids especially. He turns 10 on Oct 23. I have had him since he was 4 weeks old. Plays with 6 month old babies, and will keep the house safe. I was stuck in LA after the Sept 11 attack. My roomate had gone out of town thinking I was back. Ceasar was inside from Sat morning till Monday night, and he did not go in the house!!!

I swear to god on that one. How many dogs would do that?

Now i will tell you what breed he is. He is a Chow. Most chows are not so friendly but not Ceasar.

Sincerely,

kingriz1

Hey,
I've got two miniature Dacshunds. About 10 - 12 pounds, 2 years old. Very defensive and protective, and not friendly to strangers. But very lovable to the immediate family. One is very athletic and instinctual. The other is fat, furry and carefree. They have to be the most spoiled dogs in the world.

One cat, part himilyain(sp), part I have no idea. I think it might be inbred. But it kills crows, squirrels and throws up bones in the living room.

And its name is "tookie"

We have a 4 1/2 year old English Mastiff named Mouse. He weighs in at around 205 ponds. Big, dumb as a box of rocks, and simply the most affectionate creature on the face of the earth. He is almost inseperable from my wife, who weighs in about 110 pounds, and woe be unto he who might try and harm her. Quite the team.

We also have the best dog in the entire world. He's a nine year old genetic experiment gone haywire who sleeps a lot. He's my bud.

I have a 9 year old yellow lab/terrier. His name is Jake. You know how people say labs finally get brains at two? Yep, that's true, but they lose them again when they turn about 7 or 8. Jake is a goof, very loving, and friendly. He loves people and will greet anyone he can. He's also pretty lazy and doesn't get up before noon most days.

One 90 lb black lab named Cody. He loves dryer sheets and white socks. He likes to go 2 up on the couch when we watch tv, thank god he's never been on my lazy boy. Household duties include keeping my wife's feet warm, barking at anything that moves outside the house, and efficiently moving every drop of his water from his bowl to the carpet & furniture.

Blitz the blue merle Australian Shepard is working on becoming 11 months old. Think we were spoiled with our tri-color 13 year old Aussie Kirby that had kidney failure a year ago :( If he can figure out that underware, socks and such are not one of his food groups (yes he actually EATS them) and will quit tearing up my dirt bike magazines he may turn out to be a good dog. Oh and he thinks my John Deere is another animal that sleep unless I'm sitting on it. Puppies:silly: Gota' love 'em.

DOGS and cats

We have 2 cats (1 that bullies the dogs), 3 dogs, and 4 kids. Full House! The dogs are all rescued dogs. 2, Brown Dog (half chocolate lab, half sheppard) and Chocolate (half chocolate lab, half ???) from a shelter. Got them as puppies and now they are 2 and 3 yrs old. Then we found Hercules. Someone had lab puppies in a condo. They gave them to their nephew to give away. 10 months later he still had Hercules. He was chewing himself, skinny, bullied by a old bitch, and living in a 20X30 concrete backyard with the bitch and 2 cats. He was so sad and did not even know how to eat hard food or play. It turns out that he is a GIANT lab. Now, he is over a hundred pounds and stands almost 3 feet the shoulder. He is so loving and playful with not an ounce of brains and loves the cats. My hubby and kids call him dufus. It fits. But
I know I would not want to come in my backyard if I did not belong here! :)

Grizzly is a 14 yr. old Rottweiler/German Shephard/Chow who still thinks he's my puppy. Just don't try to come onto his territory though!
Sparkles is my wifes dog- so named because she has sparkling blue eyes. We believe she's German Shorthair and Queensland Heeler mix-a very hyper-active dog that likes to nip your hands and ankles. Do I look like a cow to you, dog?
Also have 2 female indoor cats that are very effective at pest control.:D

A Belgian Malinois ( MAL-IN-WAH), named Britt. A great dog! Just don't force her to make a choice between anything and food. She's a great friend and I trust my life to her........I should she's my work partner too. Britt is a certified Detection and Patrol dog for the US Border Patrol.

Oh yeah, my wife has these two lil things that look like something threw them up. I think they are called Corgies......butt ugly, unloving lil b@stards.
