Henry in, Jeff Ward out for Washougal

The rumored double-comeback at Washougal this weekend of a pair of multi-time champions, Doug Henry and the 42-year-old Jeff Ward, has been trimmed back to just one, as Ward has decided not to race after all. According to Troy Lee Designs' Bob Weber, Wardy told him and told Troy Lee at Mammoth last month, "I don't want to take someone else's seat on the gate." Instead, Ward is at Ponca City for the NMA Grand National Championships with his son.

As for Henry, he's definitely going to race this weekend. He will have an automatic spot on the starting gate as a three-time AMA National Champion, and he will be riding a Troy Lee Designs Honda CRF450R.

Doug Henry is a class act and I will look forward to seeing him run, he always seems to surprise some of the kids with his speed.

I just wish he was still on a 2stroke. I think its funny how the only rider to win a #1 plate on a 4stroke was riding a 2stroke the last few years
