dt 400 oil pump probs

i have a 1978 dt 400 which iam restoring and and looking for oil pump and seat base. does the oil pump off a 250 or 175 fit the 400. hoping for advice . allan

A website you might find very helpful is www.yamaha-motor.com. It's the factory site and it has complete parts catelogues for all their bikes. A quick check showed that the oil pumps used on 1978 DT250s and 1978 DT400s had the same part number. Ergo, they use the same oil pump. I didn't check on other models, but with web access, you can.
