i'm going out near the local dunes to look at a kdx220 and thinking that the owner has done alot of roosting in the sand. would this be harder on the bike in any way? clutch wear out faster or any other parts?
Yes, riding in sand is a lot harder on a bike! Sand likes to get in places it shouldn't be, thus wearing out chains/sprocket and bearing much faster. When you ride a dirt bike in sand you have to keep the RPM's up to stay on top of the sand, so that puts more stress on everything. That being said IF you can get it cheap i would probably go for it, BUT you might have to be replacing some parts soon.
