early 80's RM 125 problem..

I recently bought this bike for cheap, The guy who owned it lived in Colorado, he recently had the top end done so he said and it hasnt ran since, I managed to get it running for about 30 seconds then it bogged down and died, now it wont start at all. Any suggestions? It has spark but wont stert..

Clean the carb, paying particular attention to the pilot and main jet. Remove them and make sure the orifice is clean throughout. Good luck.

Have you replaced the spark plug?

I will do that and the plug is new, but I am going to buy another just in case..

If it starts with a new plug, I would think a bad crank seal or a jet fell out iside the carb.

how long ago was that? did it ever run after his so called rebuild? kick it over several times and check the plug. Is it wet, dry or oily?...I would first be suspecting a carb cleaning needs to be done....
