I have a 82 Cr-480 and it doesnt have a spark. i got a new plug and a new coil. and i'm still not getting it. is there anyway to check to see if the CDI or the pulse generator is working properly with a voltmeter thing?

Try disconnecting your kill switch and also check your grounds are tight and clean. Has the bike been running and how long ago?

where are the grounds?

The grounds are: the coil mounted to bare metal on the frame, the engine grounded to the frame. Another thing to check if this doesn't work is pull the flywheel and make sure the magnets aren't rusted. Clean them up with scotch brite.

for the engine ground, if its just bolted in is it considered grounded? sorry for all the stupid questtions im new at this stuff

the coil and the kill switch is good. what should i look for on the stator and the flywheel?
also it sounds like air is being pushed back through the carb and airbox when i push the kickstarter. any ideas whats wrong with that
