eline carbon fiber pipe guard

Finally got my 02 250 EXC, I think I am gonna love it. Was wondering how well the eline carbon fiber pipe guards work and if they are worth the money. I had a Moose aluminum on my last bike and it was a joke. So any input would be helpfull. THANKS

I put one on my project bike, a YZ125 with a WR200 motor inserted in it and it has protected my pipe nicely over the last 3 years. It was a custom made guard to fit the hand made 40 section cone pipe that Williams Motorwerx made for me.

I just got one for my new '02 Gas Gas and it is lighter and better finished. It still appears plenty strong and it fits fine.

I haven't seen a broken one yet, but maybe others have.

I have an eline guard on my 300 Gas Gas with a FMF gnarly pipe. It has
held up great. Nice product in my opinion.

Wouldn't leave home without it. I've had one on my last three bikes,It's save, I don't know how many pipes.

The drawback to the eline pipe guards is that they're specific to a pipe. So if you switch to an FMF pipe, the guard probably won't fit. Check out the heavy aluminum guard from www.flatlandracing.com . You can tweak that for any pipe. I had all three FMF pipes for my 99 250EXC and the flatland guard was easy to transfer from pipe to pipe.

I don't know. The e-line guard is a nice product, but it costs $100, and I can get two pipes repaired and shipped for that. I have run two years without a guard, and the pipe is ready for some dent removal, but I'm not sure the guard would be cost-effective for me. If you ride in a lot more rocks, maybe so.

Expensive (especially for us Canucks) but a good product. An encounter with a large rock left mine with a "soft spot" mid way up on the guard and a broken pipe at the exhaust port. No dent on the pipe and a quick job with the Tig and my pipe was re-born. I'd buy another.

A HAVE THE ELINE ON MY 2002 KTM 125 EXC. IT'S LOOKS GREAT AND FITS LIKE A GLOVE. I HAVE THE FMF FATTY PIPE. I WOULDN'T SUGGEST YOU CRASH OR LET YOUR BIKE FALL OVER WITHOUT ONE.

I have an eline on my 01 250exc and if has been great. I hit a log so hard that it broke the tabs on the pipe, but did not dent the pipe. All I have to do is weld the tab back on and I'm good. I will not be without one from now on.. The aluminum "bend to fit" ones left me unimpressed. They do an ok job, but the cf looks better, IMO

My buddy had a E-line pipe guard on his 2000 YZ 250 when we were trailriding last fall. He got off the trail a little bit and hit a rock the size of a lawn mower. The rock bounced off the pipe guard and sheered the water pump and clutch cover right off the bike. All it did was scratch the pipe guard a little bit....talk about tuff. If I had a 2-stroke I would own a e-line pipe guard.

Mine has been great on the 300. I did drop the bike hard on a pointed rock and it penetrated the guard denting the pipe, but I blame me not the guard. I got the pipe fixed and am still using the pipe guard given that the damage was done on the side not the front.
