Hello i was wondering if anybody knows where i can find an ICO black box (I think that is what it is called) What it does is display the mile you should be on throughout the enduro. You program it before hand for speed changes and etc. I would really like to have one for the upcoming season i just can't locate it. thanks for any help

I got one of the old black ones.

I use the newer red, procomp or something like that.

ICO is a first class company, I've be buying from them for 14 yrs.

The small red one works great, they also have a bigger red/al cased one. Buddy has that model. Both are great.

Installation

It is pretty straight forward on installation and all instrunctions are included. Just make sure you get the proper distance between the sensor and the magnet and don't tape the wires up past the brake line giude or they may kink.
I used the auto cal mode and my odometer reading is almost exactly correct.
As far as programing the unit with a roll cart, it seems difficult at first, but detailed instructions are included and it gets easier once you get the basics figured out. This is a very powerful unit and gives an abudance of information without toggleing from screen to screen. It's all right in front of your face at a glance of the eye. My favorite feature is the slide bar at the bottom , which tell you how far ahead or behind you are riding and if you are on time exactly, it just rides in the middle. It also has a nice little flag type icon that comes on when its ok to enter a check. Makes burning a check almost impossible if you keep an eye on the unit.
Simply put, The unit does all the thinking, all you have to do is keep the bike going, which for me is easier said than done

The wife?????????? The device requires you to go purchase something for it of at least equal value. Installation tips? As far as I know WIFE is an unistallable program:p :p :p

And like motox4fun said, "It does all the thinking for you."

Sorry - couldn't resist

This is the biggest reason why I bought the Checkmate. The stock odo on my bike has never matched the milage marked on the course. I found it annoying to constantly have to pull out the knob, adjust, push it back in (which caused the tenth digit to move slightly, throwing the milage off from true). This was tough at checks when other riders on your minute are right behind you waiting to check, etc. I talked to a guy at ICO racing this morning before I parted with nearly five hundred dollars, and I was impressed at how friendly he was. He took the time to explain darn near everything that this unit will do & how to do it, including some install tips. I must of yacked at him for a good 20 minutes. Of course, for this kind of money he should be nice! Anyway, ICO Racing seems like a first rate company.

I can barely stand waiting for the unit to arrive, I'm itchin' to start pressing buttons and zero checks

The wife is a different story, if only I could press her buttons...

I got a Watchdog 2000, late last year. I've run 2 timekeepers and 2 qualifiers with it.
I've also run a timekeeper with a borrowed Pacemaker.
IMHO, all 3 units have good points. It is a matter of what you get used to. I like the Watchdog, probably because I have spent more time with it, than the Pacemaker. I have no experience with the ICO, but I'm sure I would get used to it, and like it also....
Here's the Watchdog site, FYI...
