Help, I have stripped the gearbox output shaft and am trying to split the cases so I can replace it.

I dont have a manual as they are £36 in the UK, and I only need it for the motor, it being in a KX125 frame.

I have removed the flywheel, stator, and the complete top-end, and also all the 8mm bolts that hold the cases to gether on the left hand side of the engine, as I have an exploded parts diagram that shows these as the only parts holding the cases together, but it wont split!

are there any bolts holding the cases together on the clutch side? the cases appear to move apart a little, but seem to be jamming below where the reed-valve case would be if the barrels were attached.

anyone help me here, or better still have an electronic copy of the manual they could send me the engine chapter from. I'll even purchase a second-hand manual if anyone has one for sale. I'm in the UK, but can arrange for a US address to forward any packages on to me.

no offence to you or DRN, but EVERY other forum for bikes or cars I'm on works like that. It's called helping out other people.

your manual in the US is almost half the price it is here in the UK, if it was that price here, I'd buy one even though I only need it for the engine chapters, but it isnt, and $65 for a manual I only need about 30% of the content for is a bit excessive in my book. Thankfully for me, and unlike you, there are helpful people in the world who agree.

I must admit that in the UK we get shafted for price on everything. For a new bike in the states you will pay $5000 (£3333) but in the UK will we have to pay £6000 ($9000) This is the reason there is so much piracy in the UK. We just get sick of being mugged every time we go to buy something.

Forums for owners are there for people to share info with there buddies, if this wasnt the case then there would be no point in a forum.

each to their own opinion, I'm sorry we have obviously upset your commendably high morals.

I have tried to get a second-hand manual - as I stated in my first post, I am willing to buy one if I can find one.

congratulations on just alienating your country a bit more from the rest of the world!

So Are you saying that you have **NEVER** copied a CD, Borrowed a book or Photocopied something?

Because if you have, that makes you a hypocrite!

As MCVTR pointed out, he has looked on **** and there are no manuals available, otherwise he would purchase one.If he buys one from the states he will have to pay an additional 17.5% import duty.

If you had a group of friends with similar bikes in the same area or even if they had playstations for example you would not expect them to ALL buy the same game \Book as you would lend it to them.

Just be careful when you are balanced on that high horse as the fall could be greater than you imagined!

Guys..guys... It makes total sense to *BUY* a manual if you are going to ride and work on your bike. I guess it IS a morality thing that us Yanks have a problem with. Openly pirating information is not something we do. (At least most of us) You have no right giving JasonWho crap over being moral. I bought a manual even though I thought it was overpriced and I'm sure he did too. It's part of owning a bike and a good investment. Think what you will about us Yanks but I have no regrets being upstanding.

First thing I bought after I brought my KDX home was a manual. If it makes you guys in the UK feel any better, a good friend of mine just put out big $$ for a manual for his Triumph Daytona...

Manual schmanual, who really gives a flying hoot if it is copied or not. I could careless!!! If I had one available on my computer, I would be more than greatful to send you a copy, but I don't. It's too bad that all people have to do is worry about if it is copied or not.
Live life and don't be worried about what others are doing!
