exhaust leak?

i was taking apart my cr 250. and i noticed that were the pipe meets the silencer i had a little leak. where that little coupling is. i had that black junk on the pipe for my silencer. should i get a clamp on there? or is this not really a big deal.

also, what do you guys use to clean up your pipes? im gonna try a light rubbing compound.

If your concerned about it you can clean it real good and then put a little high temp RTV there when you slide it back together.

High temp oil and gas resistant silicon stuff you can get at the auto part store. Just a thin coat around the pipe before you slide it together.
