I see them at every event but I don't have one yet. I've asked around & some people love theirs and others hate em.
What brands are the best & what to stay away from? How long do they hold up to every weekend use? And the big question, what can I expect to spend?
Lasty, what is a good size? 10x10 seems to be common but is that big enough to do any good, and what about side walls?

I think that ought ta just about do it.

I've got a 10'x10' but a different brand. Not even sure of it's name. It is the second one in a year though. Next time, I'll try the EZ-up. I'm hoping the quality is better. The ten footer is a good size. Plenty of room underneath, just remember that early in the morning and late in the day, there isn't much shade as the sun is too low. I didn't get the sides, figured they'd just be in the way and impede access.

Merry Christmas

You won't go wrong with a 10x10 EZ up. Just tie it down to something at the races. I've had one blow away and parts are expensive. But quality is very good. As for sides, A large blanket or beach towels are great and can be moved easily as the sun moves. Mine has lasted 5 years and had a lot of use.

I have the cheaper model from Wal Mart for 100 bucks. It is easy to use and has a rigid top from unlike most EZ ups tent pole type. So far 1 year of use and now problems. I just hate that it looks like a big picnic table with the green/white striped canopy. As HLT said, use the stakes or something or they do blow away and get mutilated. BTW mines a 10x10.

EZ up canopies are quality units. The typical 10x10 size can be put up by 2 people in a few minutes, last a long time(if you tie them down and take them down in high winds), are easy to transport and look fairly cool and with sidewalls are usually under 200 bucks.;)

Beleive it or not I picked one up at Gart Bros. (Sporting goods) at an unadvertised sale (just happened in the door) for $39!

It's the smaller one 8.5x8.5 but for $40 it's worth it!

Definately go with the EZup brand. We have the 10x10 and after 2 seasons of use (plus many winter uses) it still looks like new. We paid $175 at Sams club and it came with 3 sides and a rolling carry case.
The sides are great for rainy days and we also use it in the winter at hunting tournaments.
One helpfull hint is to not only stake it down thru the legs but if it is windy we add tie downs from the bracket at the top of the legs to stakes driven about 18" from the base. Seems to help stablizr the top from separating away from the staked legs.

Before I could utilize any much appreciated advice

I managed to be the recipient of a free EZ-up. I was riding the other day with a pro rider that was in TX from IL and killing some time. We got to talking about EZ-ups, just like the one he had and he gave his to me. It has 2 broken trusses which I ordered replacements for $7.50 each and now I own one. It doesn't have the sides or a bag but I'll get those. It's an older dome model and he said it was a pain in the butt so I took it off his hands. I think when I do buy one it will be the express or similar model.
