I thinking of buying the fastway footpegs the lowboy ones. I would like to lower my riding position on my 02 cr250.Any drawbacks or thoughts on these. Thanks TOTALL
I dont have the lowboy ones, but I will never go back to anything else. Ive got big feet and these things make all the difference, its like standing on a 2x4. I would for sure do it.
I found two downsides to the lowboy pegs.
1: The kickstarter on my CR500 now slams into the peg when I kick it over
2: I had to cut a little bit of the adjuster bolt on the rear brake pedal to allow me to lower it enough.
I just have one ride on mine. Very nicely built - high quality. The new ones (at least mine) have a two way reversable collar that allow you to mount them in either standard or lowboy configuation. I ran them in the low position. They're comfy, but putting them lower mean more contact w/ rocks & such.
I put them on my 02 KX-250. THe quality is very good, they did require me to drill out the mounting holes a little, because the pegs fit so tight to the frame that they wouldn't fold up, but it was an easy fix. Riding impressions- they make me feel more comfortable with my foot position. Stock pegs, I had to move my feet forward and back to feel like I was balanced on the peg, with these, its like a street bike with the floorboards for your feet.
i liked them alot on the ktm i put them on--very comfy. the pins wore down pretty quick, & the kickstarter bent the 1 pretty bad, so be careful of whacking the peg with the starter.
If you got the pegs where the sleeve is a seperate peice that does not join the footpeg, they will bend your footpeg pins. Contact Fastway for replacements.
I have 2 friends that have them on their XR50's, they are the widest pegs I have seen and are pretty sweet. But both of them have missing teeth... (whats cool with the pegs is that the teeth are screwed in pegs). I dont know if they rattled out or what, they are only missing like 1 or 2 of the screws tops. Hopefully they sell them seperate, but they love them...
