Hello, and thank you all for your concern. I am indeed at my mother's house enjoying the effects of the painkillers. Due to the completely uncomfortable sitting position at the computer, and Mom's ancient machine and dial-up connection, I won't post much until I go home.
Anyway, the surgery went well. Turns out I tore the MCL and the meniscus as well as the ACL so I did a pretty good job in there. They did a nerve block which is just now starting to wear off, so the pain hasn't been bad yet, with one exception. I didn't set an alarm to take pills so my medication lapsed, resulting in nauseating pain. I learned that lesson well and will be setting alarms tonight. My first PT appointment is Monday. I have pictures I will scan when I return.
This sucks and I would not recommend it to anyone!!! I hate it! I hurt and I ache and I am sore. The painkillers are not fun since I do not enjoy the floaty feeling and inability to focus my eyes on anything (typing is a chore.) None of the other side effects are much fun either. I've been dozing on and off for 24 hours and my back and neck are stiff too. But I have received flowers from concerned friends, so that helps. I am grumpy.
So there's the first progress report. I am sure all the pain and discomfort is only beginning.
Thanks again for all your concern.
