flag bolt

i want to know if i can drill a hole in a bolt then just cut a line in it with a hacksaw to mount the bottom of the whip in?

Why not just make a little bracket out of some aluminum stock that you can get at Home Depot / Lowes?

i have a bracket to mount the flag on my bike but i want to make sort if like a pinch bolt that the fiberglass whip slides in to and when i tighten the nut on the end to hole the flag in place

My guess is there will be a bunch of stress on that end of the flag stick . You would need to support severl inches ( 1 1/2" or 2") of the fiberglass or it would vibrate enough to fail. Maybe :yikes:
