As of October 1st motorcycles in Oregon (sand dunes) will be required to have a flag just like all other atvs. How ridiculus.

Anyone have some good ideas about how to mount one...in a way so it won't be hitting me in the back the whole time. I was thinking a bracket that extends out above the fender, but using what, the seat and silencer bolts? I've also heard talk of a bracket on the swing-arm.

Any help, or links to sites that have solved this problem would be great.

Scotts makes one. You can probably find it online somewhere.

Flag Mount

I was looking at this for my daughters PW, when the hay is high, she is kind of hard to see. Good luck.

Isn't that a great idea!!!

Senator Lenn Hannon told me it was a case of good intentions gone bad..that it was moronic..that whoever was responsible for it should be shot.

I contacted BikePac. Asked them if they knew of this and what their part was in it. They said they are mostly a street outfit, and knew nothing about it.

Senator Hannon is willing to try to either get this repealed or modified in some way that would negate the dictum of 'any bike, anywhere, all the time'.

The local MRA group does not support this legislation. I'd suggest you contact your local state rep/senator and tell them you expect an accounting of THEIR vote on this..and ask them to get it off the books.

Can you imagine a 9' fiberglass rod entering your groin area somewhere and exiting out one of your shoulders?

Ugh!!

Flags have been required at silver lake sand dunes here in MI for as long as I remember. They really are not a problem once you get used to them. DAR is located right next to the entrance of the dunes. There site is HERE They have mounts that go on your axle.

Give me a day and I could put up a blue print on how to make one.
or e-mail me at Here
