My local dealer has some decent prices on these. I understand it is a law that my bike has one offroad. I have never seen it enforced, but I hate to be the first. The law can practice on our good friend Studboy!!! (just kidding)

Anyway, my bike now has the pro circuit 304 wonder silencer. If I buy one of the fmf quiet spark arrestor silencers, grandpa style(it weighs 47 lbs or so) will it make my bike more quiet? Would it improve the low end power? I could care less about top end. My bike (with me riding) causes me to soil myself over 6523 rpm's. I hate to pass on this thing if it would not mess my bike up. Thanks!!!

Which silencer is it? If it is a Q silencer FMF claims it will get a 2-stroke down to 93db. My understanding is a shorter silencer is supposed to be better for low end power, generally speaking, and from what I have seen the Q is very long. www.mxsouth.com has the Q for $129.99 and the other FMF spark arrestors are a little cheaper.

Spark Arrestors are required to ride off-road, in most places, but enforcement depends upon where you live. I would say get a spark arrestor regardless and be a quiet as you need to be, but I doubt you will find a silencer which will give drastically better performance than what you already have.

i run a FMF shorty which is a bit loud, when io go the the trail i bolt on a sparky cobra spark arrester (USFS legal). i ride more track than anything and i dont like the idea of a big long pipe sticking out of the back of the bike so this works for me and only cost $50.

the problem you have with the procircuit 304 is that you have to cut the stinger tip pipe off to use the sparky bolt on

Rcannon, I haven't been busted yet!!! Just kidding, whenever I ride USFS areas I bolt on an old Answer S/A Pro Silencer that I have laying around. My friend has an FMF Turbine Core II Silencer on his 97 KX250 and it looks sounds and works nice! And I'm quite sure that it doesn't way 47 lbs.... If it REALLY did weigh that much I would never run one. You would have to seriously stick a counterweight on the left side of the bike so that when you made right hand turns you wouldn't tip over. :)
If it is a good deal, I would go for it.
Oh, by the way, you are talking about a "Spark Arrestor" not a "Spart Arrestor", am I correct? LOL :debil: Just kiddin' with ya.

I have a Turbine Core II on my KX and it works quite well. However I did not notice a difference in sound when compared to a old Answer spark arrestor I had or the stock silencer. I am hoping that it will pass sound tests here in california beginning january 1st. If it won't, I'll have to buy the FMF "Q" silencer to get it down to around 93 db (so they claim). I really hope it passes, because I don't want to buy the FMF Q. It looks ugly to me, about 3-4 inches longer than your standard 2 stoke spark arrestor.

I remember it as a spark arrestor. I was typing without my contact lenses in. I think I will go ahead and get one. It is much cheaper than a ticket.

Or, perhaps a typing lesson.
