fmf turbine core 2, am i just stupid?

so i just bought an fmf turbine core 2 for my 2001 rm125 because i wanted to quiet it down alittle, the stock silencer was really annoying. so i bolted it on and fired it up...and it was just as loud. it sounded better, but it was still loud and obnoxious. this is a stupid question i know but its advertised as a "silencer"....so wtf. thanks to any who help.

Did you think you were getting the "Q" silencer? That's the real quiet one. They are all silencers, just to different degrees. Try starting it up without one installed :ohmy:

I had a TC2 on my '99 CR250, and it was quiet.

If this is a used one you bought, you might want to change the packing.
