I was looking on the FMF site at jetting recs. My question is where did they get the stock info for an '01 KDX 220. They have a #50 pilot and a #160 for the main. Now my bike stock was a #42 pilot and a #145 main. Brand new from the dealer.

Do the dealers modify the carbs for the area to which the shop is located? I was under the impression the carbs and the rest of the bike are put together into major pieces at the factory, boxed up, sent to the shops, and then a few items put back together.

Hhhmmmmm........Where did those specs come from?

Maybe from the same guy that keeps their fabrication jigs in tune.

Maybe they jet as well as they fit 'stuff'?

Obviously, I don't know where the info came from. Just as obviously...it's wrong.

I've gotten a bike from a dealer that had been 'adjusted' (rejetted) BY that dealer. They didn't tell me they had done it. They thought they were doing me a favor by trying to jet to the 4,000' el. I suppose.

Others on this forum have posted 'oem' jetting on a brand new bike that certainly is NOT stock. SOMEbody changed it out of the box.

CDave lists the jetting spec for the kdx on his site.

So does buykawasaki.com

Looks like their jetting specs fit about as good as their pipes and S/A's do! :moon:

My pipe and silencer I think were the exception. Heard alot of bad stories, though.
