Could somone please help me understand how to set the preload on my forks :( I got new springs from Race Tech and the instructions say=
Once set length is recorded(measured from washer at cap to where spring sits inside w/rod fully extended)measure length of spring and subtract. This would equal the size spacer for 0 preload then add amount of preload needed including washers for each end to make spacers.
OK , set length is= 466mm
The springs themselves are =472
So...466-472= -6

I want to have 10mm preload , so do I need 16mm combined spacers and washers to accomplish this???
I know I'm brain dead, please help the needy

I'm soooooo confused because right now there is one spring at 465 w/a 6mm spacer and the other at 475 w/no spacer, WTF?

The KX should have 470mm length springs. Sounds like one of yours is sacked approx. 4mm. At 470mm you should already have the proper preload.

If they are 470 and the preload is already right, how much preload does that make it? Just trying to understand this.
I measured the new springs again , 1 is 470, the other is just shy of 472?
