I've got an '88 kdx 200 and my front bake master cylinder is screwed. The piston is basically siezed, I can barely get it to move and can't get it out. So I'm looking to replace it, but just the master cylinder assembly is $150 from an OEM dealer. I'm more into street bikes than dirt bikes, and I know most dirt bikes use the same size/type of brake lines... the calipers and master cylinders are all different, but you could take a master cylinder from one bike and put it on some other make/model bike and it would work because the banjo bolts on the brake lines are all the same... you just mount it up. Is it this way with dirt bikes? Could I take a master cylinder from a modern KDX or KX and put it on my '88 KDX, and it work? (since my brake lines and caliper are in fine shape)
