Hi there.

I noticed that my front fork dust seal has mud embedded along the edges.

Izzit safe for me to pry off the dust seal and use WD40 to spray everything out???

Carefully pry off the dust seal and slide it out of the way. Thoroughly douse it with contact cleaner to remove all debris. Also spray up into where the oil seal is to make sure there is no dirt trapped there.

It’s a good idea to clean the dust seal as regular maintenance.

Many people also recommend packing the area between the seal and the dust cover with lithium grease after cleaning.

Try a piece of old film negative to clean out the crack if it's ornery.

It's a good idea to pack it with grease. It'll add life to the seals.
