Could anyone advise how to set the rear shock on my 03 ec200.It is too low and too soft, but rather than just guess are there some measurements i should take?
Your bike needs to be correctly sprung for your weight. I weigh in at 240 lbs. and had to get heavier springs for my weight. I run about 4-inches of race sag and about 1-inch of static sag. If you adjust the spring pre-load to obtain the correct race sag, and the spring is too light for your weight, then the spring will have too much stored energy. Too much preload on the spring will then translate in the bike not liking you very much.
You can do a search in the forums on setting the proper "sag". But I can't reiterate enough about correct springs (front and rear) for your weight.
