gas gas rear shock resevoir

Does anyone know of some sort of protective gaurd or cover to go over the shock canister on my 03 ec200.I wear Sidi enduro boots and apparently the inside edge rubs on the expensive Ohlins(a lot).

i think i would just accept the "wear"; i've seen almost all of the reservoirs have shown wear on the upper outside edge and "no problems" resulted(you see more wear on the bikes of more agggressive riders, who grip the bike more with their legs,...) this is true on all GG bikes we've sold/serviced since '99. also, the reservoir needs to be able to release heat and most guards would tend to insulate it,... if the wear is really severe, a fabricator shop could build a sleeve for the top of the reservoir and maybe a finned heat sink for the body of the reservoir- i've not seen this done in the USA yet, but not too hard a job for a good machinist. best luck, jack

I put a hose clamp around mine(I wear SIDIs also) with the screw facing out.
SIDI also sells garters that strap on the top of the boot. This keeps the boot from snagging other parts of the bike.

A layer of clear numberplate backing will also do wonders...reapply as needed.
