i'm considering going off the deep end and buying a 300 exc (been riding a klx300 for 1 1/2 years, but it's not exactly a race bike, and i was very impressed with the 300 mxc i rode last year). the local dealer has 1 left, and it's pretty much the end of the model year. they're asking $6500 out the door. what would be a reasonable offer that a) would be such a good deal i would have to buy it if they accept, and b) they might actually accept.

i was thinking somewhere in the $5500-6000 range, am i nuts? this is northern california (santa rosa area).

Mid-South motoplex in Tenn. has a 300EXC `02 model on close out at $4999 advertised in a local trader magazine. 250SX at same price also.

If you go to www.msws.org I think they have a link to their website on it.

I hope this is OK??

Go to www.ktmtalk.com. Register to become a member. Then go to the 'Get a Quote' section. You will not believe the deals some DRN members have been getting on NEW KTM's!

Good LucK!

I was just at ktm-parts.com last night and saw some leftover new 300's in the $5000 range. Even with shipping you'll save $$$. To be honest though $6500 out the door isn't too bad since tax and registration are included. That means you're getting it for around $6000 before tax.

Holeshot had one for $5500 last week and sold it. Keep shopping, as Strick says ktmtalk.com is an amazing resource for ktm owners. I went to the get a quote section for several parts and saved a bunch. Probably against the rules but excellent forum there also.
