I was coming home from Shelby the other night and a Semi tagged one on Maple Island Road.. The stupid thing went airborn and into the front of a passing truck.. There was white hair coming down from the sky,, I thought it snowing for a minute... Now that one was not edible,, well,, to normal folks anyway,, it does still fit in the burnt squirrel category...

Woodsy, that was one of the first things we thought of when that flippin 6pt buck went bouncing off the front of the Excursion. Oh sh!t did it hit the bikes! Luckilly not. We did have a nice State Trooper who was a KTM rider help us out though. :nod:

I hit a deer when I was about 14... Riding an orange Suzuki DS-185. The deer died, but the bike survived (except for fur wedged in between the tire and rim).

Yeah, I have seen that pic before. It definetly could have been worse, that is for sure. If we had been driving anything else, that might have been the end of the trip to Goshen...........that big Excursion is a tank!
Woodsy - everyone was fine. I dont think Mike's kids hardly realized anything had happened! Glad I was not in an econo box little car though! Interesting comment from the body shop guy - he said if there ever was a vehicle to do a roll over in, the Excursion was it - amazing structural integrity. It was funny when we filed the police report - we had to drive to the post in Reed City - and as we pull up see a little S-10 truck with a KTM sticker in the window. I knew I was among friends! I start the paper shuffle with the Trooper on duty he goes to look at the truck and comments to another trooper "you will like what is on the trailer out there". He looks at me and says "you got a KTM on it?" Cant get anything past those eagle eye State boys...or then again, it might have been the KTM hat I was wearing! So we start chatting - the poor desk sarge had to keep interupting us to get info...at one point I told him to just hold on a second, we had some important police business being discussed...bench racing KTMs! Nice guys to deal with actually!
Magoo - actually the claim filing went rather smoooth - as have a couple other Progressive claims in the last few years. Fortunately the "local" (Gaylord) body shop I prefer to use is in their "network" - maybe that helps? Tenatively looking to have it back by Friday already.
When I get back home (up in the Soo now), I will post a pic of it here.

I stopped at the body shop today to see how it was coming along - they had said it might be done today. they were almost done, but not quite. Sure looks a lot nicer now than it does in these pics! Oh - Mike - the body shop guy asked if we had done some "remodeling" to get the door open!

sssshhhhhhhhhhhhh..........That was suppose to be a secret! I figured either remodel with crow bar or force door open! Either way, it was going to need repairin!
