Hare Scramble Advice

i didnt exactly know where to post this, so i decided here. Tomorrows my first hare scramble...and i was just wondering what its gonna be like...what to expect and maybe the competitiveness of the C class?

I live in the Point at Stafford. About 5 miles from Quantico base. I tried to PM you earlier but couldn't send it because of your box. Clean it out a little real quick and let me know when you have done it.

ok..i live in aquia harbour....great trails everywhere...ill work on my box...and your very close to the trails just cross the road by the clearing next to the trailer park and theres some trails...

I was in those trails today actually. They are pretty good, but the ones down the street at Aquia creek are better I think. Just not as sloppy. I'm looking for a track or something so I can practice for Budd's Creek in Feb.

box should be good now...yes the trails at the creek are much better...theres a track back into the woods...did u go to the powerlines via the trails accross the street?

alright...i havent got a clue why the PM isnt working...how far thru those trails did u make it? theres alot more than u might think back there

If you go South, they seem to stop at the houses and if you go north they run into that road with the observatory on in. East is all houses, I think, and west is the trailer parks.

when u hit the houses, cross the road...ill meet u back there one day and show u around, weve got some nice trails set up around there

i ride an 02KDX220...yeah im racing up at Antietam tomorrow in a hare scramble... mostly people ride quads around here, kinda sucks, and id like to get back on the trails by the creek more often, but being 15, i have no truck :ugg: and my dad has a broken wrist right now, so he cant ride

I'm tied up with training during the week, but I love to ride every moment I get. Drop me a line sometime and we'll get together and you can show me those other trails. Or, send me an email so I have your address and I'll let you know when I can ride. The trails on this side of the road are OK, just too muddy right now. Besides, most of them still have snow and ice on them.

alright, i will. im busy thru the week, school of course and wrestling practice in the afternoon. everything is always really muddy or really dusty around here, never an inbetween. what kind of stuff do u race? MX or H/S?

I race MX and I'm dying for Budds Creek to open in Feb. I've never ridden H/S but I did an enduro about 2 years ago. I didn't like it much. But, hare scrambles seem like a lot of fun.

well ill find out tomorrow if they are or not :cool: i went to budds creek over the summer to watch some Amateur MX...it was pretty awesome..must be fun to race...im just not much for jumping. i prefer busting bark to busting air

Good luck at Antietam., gonna need a full report:) Hope you don't get snowed in up there. I want to try a hare Scramble next spring myself, I was thinking Budds, they have a sweet hare scramble course. A good place to pratice would be at the Southern Md ATV park, they have trails that actually butt up to Budds course, I heard something about them closing because of an accident or something but I think they reopened, you can call the no. on the website, Ricks a pretty nice guy. Jboomer if you want a track to practice, check out The Landing MX, kind of far but awesome tracks.
Have either of you been to the trails just south of Fredericksburg? I finally figured out where they were when coming back from Fl. I could see them from 95. Look good from there anyway.

I didn't know about trails at Budds, or south of Freds. I didn know about the Landing, but they emailed me and said it was 40 bucks per person from 9-4. Little steep for me. Let me in on the trails south of Freds, huh?

south of fredricksburg is supposedly ok, little disorganized, accourding to my dad ( he was one of the originals around here to make trails, back in the 3 wheeler days )

Im a veteren of many a antetiem race if it snows it will be crazy for the bikes I raced a quad in district 7 and won at antetiem several times switched to a bike this year for somthing different. I was all set to go mid week but decided to pass because I know they will get snow and ill be on the gruond more than riding . GOOD LUCK watch out for all those rocks they are bad up there and they are on the whole track. greg
