has anyone put a 2001 or newer kx100 fuel tank on an older bike?

the '98 through 2000 had the green tank and a shrowd just on one side. 2001 on up had the black tank with shrowds on both sides. Still only one radiator. It appears that the newer models may have a different or extra tab welded onto the frame to mount. Does anyone know details on this?

a kx 80 would be similar to the older style, and the 85 similar to the newer.

thanks

The new bikes have two radiators one each side. IMS fuel tanks fit 91 to 05 KX 80/85/100, plus hold one more gal of gas. You would have to buy a set of radiator shrouds for 2001 and up. :ride:

The newer style bikes still have just one radiator. I have seen the IMS tanks but haven't figured out how the mounting works. I'm really looking to stay with the stock type tank/capacity.

I just installed a IMS tank on a 2004 KX 100 that had two radiators, it came with an extra bracket that I did not have to use it maybe to hold a left side rad shroud the tank fit the stock mounts.

I appreciate that you are trying to help so I hate to be argumentative, but Kawasaki doesn't make a KX 85 or 100 with two radiators. If you don't believe me, go to buykawasaki.com and look up the parts diagram.
