5-0 VOTE IN SUPPORT OF HB 4323

June 11, 2008

Michigan Motorized Recreation Council

FOR IMMEDIATE REALEASE:

In today’s meeting of the Senate Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs, on the agenda was the vote on HB 4323, passing by a vote of “5-0 for recommendation to adopt” to the full Senate.

With legislators planning recess at the close of business on June 26th, there may be time for the bill to be acted upon, but the schedule is very tight. If action is not taken by the 26th, it will be dealt with when legislators reconvene in fall.

We are now done with amendments and it’s been a long path, sixteen amendments since the first Draft in an effort to satisfy everyone.

We now have just two hoops left to get through in Lansing , the Senate floor vote and the Governor’s signature. Then to the County level for ordinance adoption.

Please watch for a release within 24-48 hours from Michigan Motorized Recreation Council for our next plan of action.
