recently bought a new bike it’s a 1996 YZ250 the bike seems to run fine. I took my exhaust off to replace the orings and springs and looked into my motor and seen what looks like piston scaring. The piston feels smooth and like I said the bike runs so hopefully there isn’t major damage. I’m hoping a new top end and it will be good to go I noticed I cannot find new cylinders online because the bike is getting old so I really hope mine is ok. I would really appreciate what anyone else thinks

when you replace the piston look at the underside of the piston top to see if its blackened. If so then the main jet is too lean.
