Hi, love this site , learning heaps. I have a question, Ive been out of the game for a while so Im on a learning curve at the mo. I recently purchased a KDX220 2000 model, it has fitted a fmf gnarly pipe ( I believe its the torque pipe), it runs great. Almost to great, The powerband kick is fairly hard and a little much for me to handle in tight woods at the mo. I also acquired with the bike the original exhaust, complete and in mint condition, if I was to fit this back on what can I expect will it lower the grunt but also smooth out the powerband a little for me. This would be great if it did until I get back up to speed. Your coments would be much appreciated, thanks.

Pipe swapping will not take long, Try the stocker and get your skill/confidence up and then may try the FMF later.

What...every '<A href="http://www.dirtrider.net/cgi-bin/clickpro/click.cgi?id=21" target="_blank"><b><A href="http://www.dirtrider.net/cgi-bin/clickpro/click.cgi?id=21" target="_blank"><b>FMF</b></a></b></a>' gets a link on this forum now? Hhhmmmm..... And even the word PiPe?????

See above for what happens on an edit!! Cool!!

A severe 'hit' on the 220 is going to be a jetting issue, likely. An INcorrectly jetted issue.

You'll be tweaking that, later, too.

Check out:

for jetting baselines. Bunch of other good stuff, too.

Thanks guys after being informed by the previous owner that it was the torque pipe i found it was a KG30 which i believe is the rev pipe. I swapped to the original and wow what a difference, infact it wont be long and ill be changin again. But the original is going to make this so easy to ride.
My next question what difference will it make if any if I run the fmf rear muffler with the original front muffler. If any.
Thanks guys for the input.
