Help the new guy w/ an 88 CR125

I'm not new to MX bikes ...just Hondas. I just bought an 88 CR125 for $300 and it runs decent... it starts and rides but it just doesn't seem like the power is 100% there, especially at take off. I know the carb is at the factory stock setting and the inside of it looks new. It has a new air filter, plug, Boysen Rad assemby... but I haven't pulled the head yet to inspect it or the piston.. The head has JB Weld on it so it looks like it may have had a crack in it at one time. Does anyone know where I can get a new/used cylinder head besides a FULL price Honda dealer? Any MX junk yards around?

I would start by running a compression test and go from there. :cool:

try to clean out your powervalve.

yea there are a lot of salvage yards- get a new copy of dirt rider -in the back there are some in the 'dirt mart section'-- classifieds,
