recently just perchased a 2004 honda cr 250. i bought the bike with a spare motor. now my clutch would not ingage to relase the gearing so i pulled it apart. had a goosey gander and saw that the basket was knackered. it had grooves all along the edges, rather deep, so ive just replased it with a brand new billet clutch basket. but the problem still persists. anyone got any ideas? got a month till i get paid so bear in mind im skint to try alot lol

any help or ideas would be greatfull :-)

Is the clutch dragging ? Did you replace the inner clutch hub when you changed the basket ? Check the clutch plates for warping, also check the clutch actuating lever (the part that the cable connects to in the case) for wear where it pushes on the clutch rod.

Do you have the washer in between the inner hub and the basket? Check a parts diagram and make sure all spacers and washer are in correct position. Also make sure no pieces are missing.
