1st try at this.... I've got oil leaking from a seal behind the chain sprocket on my 93 Honda bike. Is this a straight forward pry out the seal and replace---or is there more to be concerned about?

Checked with our local Honda dealer/service folks and they say one should be able to pop out the old seal without splitting the case. Gonna try that... Thanks for your replies.

Looks like the Honda dealer/service folks were off on this one- appears as if one will need to split the case. 6-7 hours work for a $5 dollar seal! Mustering up resolve to tackle this...

I just check the oil level more often and dont lube the chain

Just to close the loop here: A real crafty mechanic instead grinded off the metal lip on the oil seal, applied some locktite and drove it in- has worked out great....

hmmm . . . I thought the oil leaking on the chain was a nifty automatic chain oiling feature . . .
