I might be pushing the edge of the topic a little (maybe more of a conditioning question) but has anyone noticed a difference in fatigue depending on which fingers are used. I ride a KTM 300 with hydraulic clutch and use my middle two fingers on the lever. In tight woods I use the clutch a LOT and after a while my hand and forearm get weak if ther trees don't give me a break. I maybe should use some kind of hand exerciser, but was wondering if anyone's noticed a difference depending on which fingers are used.
I use my index and middle (bird) finger. Being a four stroke, I have to fully engage clutch, so I cut my lever just long enough for those two fingers. If you cut it, be sure to weld the end up in the shape of a ball or something similiar. I have seen people that didn't do this and ended up with lever stuck in leg when they crashed.
I keep my middle finger on it all the time and sometimes my index finger for corners.
Just keep your fingers on the clutch all of the time and it will be 2nd nature soon.

Moving the clutch lever intowards the bar pad helps, also making sure the cable is not sticking and clutch basket and hub are o.k. because that can make the clutch harder to pull. If you dont use the clutch for downshifts it can round off the edges of the gears and cause false neutrals.
