How many O-rings on a Master Link ?

Trying to install a new renthal o-ring chain on my CR250. It came with 2 types of master links. Each master link packet included 3 o-rings. I thought each master link requires 4 o-rings???? I just took 1 o-ring from the other packet to install 4 o-rings. Is that right?
