Wow thankgod whoever suggested running a BR8ES resistor
plug because I figured out why the plugs were just dying
on me! Pulled the ignition cover and this is what I found,
DISGUSTING! :bang:

Whats the best way to clean that area out,
I wanna get everything spotless and all sealed up!
Also I was wondering why there is a thin layer
of oily substance around the rim where the radiator cap
goes. It's weird there is no antifreeze in the coolant so
I don't understand?

CRC makes a good electric parts cleaner available at most auto parts stores. That and maybe some light brushing with a toothbrush should be most of the stuck on stuff. Then a good shot of air to get all the nooks & crannies.

meter or somethin... thanks for the cleaning tips!

A good cleaning is in order and new gasket will help it stay clean (that and not running shin deep in rivers).

I doubt that it is going to make any difference in the amount of spark you get. There is also a chance that the process of cleaning it will actually push a marginal part over the edge and you won't have any spark at all. Note that if that happens the part was probaby going to die soon anyway.

Yeah I got it all cleaned and it fired up fine, so I'll ride it this weekend and see how it goes... I actually don't cross
any river's, just sugar sand and a little mud. Painted
my stator cover black while I was at it, but now
I think I like it better unpainted? :coocoo:

thanks, then I'll just sand it down and polish it up again and clean everything inside when it scratches up... Just wanted to see how it would look!
