Has anyone tried to shine up the kdx aluminum hubs to powder coat, or anodize them? what did you use? wire wheel, sand paper? u know. i was thinking of sprucing my bike up, and im pretty sure it would be easier to just get the excels, but i want to spend a little as i can

They're in Melbourne, Australia and I rang them to get a price on anodizing my hubs but they said they couldn't do standard ones, but they said they could do this thing called colourshine and thats what the nofear honda factory guys run. $300 AUD for front and back which is pretty good because the only other coloured hubs I could find are talon and the back ones alone start at $600.

Use a glass bead blaster. It will clean up and brighten the aluminum. I have restored several vintage MX bikes and that is best looking, most efficient way I have found. Then think about having them powder coated, possibly with a candy if you want some real bling.
