Okay, this is going to be a long, boring winter. I have already promised myself that next year will not be as rideless as this year was. My baby needs some attention. I already have some updates in the works but I am looking for some advice.

First, the frame. On the first one that Lou and I (mostly Lou) did, we went with a powder coated frame. That was da poop! Unfortunately, on the second one, this was not an option. So I went with the all popular appliance paint. This was some fairly durable stuff but proved to be a total pain in the keister. If you have to apply a second coat, it totally jacks up the first coat. It was rediculous. :bang: Plus you could not prime the frame first so as soon as the boot rub came in, the blue bled through and it looked silly.

Any suggestions there?

Second, for the most part, I am pretty happy with the 02. I kill it all day long because I was used to a 10oz flywheel wgt on my old one but I am taking care of that thanks to Mr. Gorr. Being a bike that is 3 years old, are there any suggestions as to some updates I could do? I would love to just crate up the engine and send it to Eric, but I am not sure that it would be a wise choice to sink that much into it.

Anyway, I am rambling. Just throw some stuff out there and we will discuss. Thank you!

You gotta go with the powdercoat, it's worth it.

Not knowing what mods you have...
I'd just go with a FWW, and throw on a Thunder Alley, it made a huge difference on my '02 426F. You could go with a 444 or just throw in a High-Comp piston. Do you have the autodecompressor cam in it yet? That was the single best mod I've ever done to a bike. BKMod?

Agreed on the powder coating. The problem is, before, Big Lou got it done for a six pack. Now ol' Lou has me on his permanent ignore list and I can't really justify the cost.

Mods I have now...

PC pipe
PC forks
Powernow.....yeah, it don't really do much
pretty yellow plastic

You still running the blue frame and tank then? What do you want the bike to do that it isin't doing now? I guess the more important question is how much longer do you plan on keeping it?

no no, if you do a search on Hurricane, you will see all that has been done in great detail. (thanks again to Lou). It has the yellow tank and the frame is black. I was pondering going silver on the frame like the new ones. But the black is a nice look.

To be honest, I have a feeling that I will have the bike for a least a few more years.

I guess what I am looking for is suggestions of a good way to paint the frame since the the appliance paint kinda flopped for me.

I think you should go LBZ and do the chrome/zebra stripe thing like that 1:12 scale KX model they used to have.

Seriously, do a frame sandblast and check in w/ some of the guys here for powdercoating. I think Wheeler has a small powder coater or possibly Bud can steer you on a powdercoater. I know he can get anodizing done pretty reasonable
