Husky decompressor

Long time ago somebody told me about an engine decompressor that will help a Husky 01' 360 to start easily. I got a few inputs on where to find either more information or the parts need it. It didn't find the parts. Any inputs? can anybody that reaklly knows if its true that 2002 (Husky 360) came from factory with an engine decompressor? and if it is true, can it be installed on older models like mine (2001)?

I think the decompressor was fitted only on the Australian imports. Call Jeff David at Jaydee Racing, Husky specialist based in New Gisborne, Victoria, Australia.

It was great, like starting a 125. I bought the bike(02' wr360) used so I'm not much help other than to say IT WORKS!

Here in NZ we also were doing the decomp mod. I understand it will work with any 2stroke. Problem is that head has to be drilled and adaptor welded in through the water jacket.
Definately fitted to both new 02 and 01 retro here!!

Hello I was just wonderig what kind of price they quoted you for the decompressor? All the articles I have read they want $250 aud and I was given a price of $450 aud,and I think thats a bit to much of a difference.

$250 US is about right - keep in mind they give you a modified brand new head and you keep the old one. I purchased my bike with it - well worth it after a hard days ride!

The decompressor retro-fitted to WR360`s sold in New Zealand is an adapted vacuum operated decompressor fitted to the "Victa" brand lawnmower manufactured in Australia. I believe the lawnmower in question is a fairly high compression 150cc engine.
A specially machined mounting has to be welded into the head and sits directly behind the sparkplug. The decompressor is vacuum operated so its automatic. It reduces the kick to something like a well tuned 200 would need to start.

Yep its a modified Victa lawnmower decompressor...I think you coukld buy it from Victa Lawnmowers and try and fit it in yourself. That may be a cheaper option...but it works well..
