Well I'm addicted to this vintage thing. I just became the owner of a 72' WR 450 in sweet shape. Next on the agenda, get it race ready.

Me Too. My 72' WR 450 is apart ready for a powder coat. Let me know if you find a compatible piston / ring set. It amazes me how simple these bike were compared to todays rides.

How is the project going? What do you have planned to make the WR450 race ready? Have you considered an alloy swing arm? Works Performance seems to have the market cornered on vintage race shocks. Anyone with suggestions for the trick race setup?

Ok, here's what I'm thinking so far; first go with a Mag swingarm, Circle F pipe, alloy tank, CR tranny, 75' black leg forks and not sure which shocks yet, if I can find a pair of S&W's or Boge or.... I have a line on everything but shocks, could always go with Works.
