I have both a KTM 300MXC and a new TE570 that I'm riding now. With the KTM I run the chain with quit a bit of slack, but the Husqvarna manual stated 2mm between the bottom of the chain runner on the swingarm. This seems very tight to me and I can only envision the new sprockets that I just bought get whittled away faster than they should. Not to mention the problems that the tight chain could do to the counter shaft, etc.

Any input on how others are running their chains.

Thanks Ed

I have an older Husky(93 WXE360) that I run with an inch of free play in its most stretched state. In other words, take out the bottom rear shock bolt, lift wheel all the way up, measure 1in of free play just above the plastic on your swing arm, and tighten. My sprockets are right on schedule after 100miles.

Chain tension is weird, different manufacturers have different ways to measure. TM says the chain should just touch the swingarm in front of the chain guide.
