last year i built this kdx200-kx125 hybrid, for a friend

marmadukeandbuffy226.jpg

i rode it once and liked it so much, i realised i wanted one for myself ,,, it just made my crf450 feel
so heavy and clumsy.

trouble was i couldnt find a decent kdx motor

so decided to build myself a yz125-wr200 hybrid

finally finished it,, and thought you guys might be interested ,
i know its not a kdx, but maybe if yamaha had built there own version,,,,,

sweet how much work was involved with mounting the engines?

its not too bad,, probably a bit easier then doing a kdx/kx

you have to re weld all the engine mounts [obviously]

and make some new head stay mounts

ream out the swing arm pivot bolt on the engine, [the yz bolt is bigger then the wr one]

shims the swing arm,so it fits the engine,, (i just machined up bigger swing arm bushes so didnt bother with shims)

machine an offset carb spacer,,so the smaller carb fits air tight to the yz airbox

then you have to mount the electric power valve motor ,, and reposition the ht coil,,[i hide it between the head stay mounts].

then you have to make the an exhaust fit,, i managed to make a wr200 [fmf] pipe fit by making a new exhaust manifold

i'd like to learn how to ally weld and have a go at a ktm200 motor in a cr125 chasis

just a hybrid of 2 or more bikes

in this case

yz125 frame
wr200 engine
wr426 suspension and brakes
yzf250 wheels

ally tank
titanium subframe
bucket full of carbon bits
and about 5lbs of bad welding

but more common in here i guess would be akdx motor in a kx125 frame
