CJ Rider, Wow, great info in your posting re: the Pampera. How long have you been riding?? Have you done any modifications to the seat height? I looked at the weight comparison vs. the XT225 and it is about 40 lbs lighter which is great. Again, thanks for giving us newbies so much info!

tashben- 'Been nothing but a bozo trail spode for six or seven years now. That's kinda like being a novice skill-wise, but having the ability to embellish upon stories while sitting around a camp fire.

KTMster- I've heard that pullrod thingy also called a lowering link. Go to www.lt-racing.com and select "Products" and pullrod is the third thingy down under "suspension." I don't know if they make the same thing for KTM, but maybe somebody here with more experience can help. (I'm SO mechanically challenged.)

The KTM doesn't have pullrods - no linkage suspension. The GG you would be able to get longer pullrods/dogbones. I know LoriKTM has had her KTM lowered, so check with her - she got a suspension shop to do it from memory.

Hmm, CJ, you're making me even more nervous about going riding with you, didn't realise you've been riding that long ;)

Michelle's right-- no linkage on the KTMs. I just pulled the forks and shock off and sent it to Jeremy at MX-Tech for revalving and had him take 1" out to shorten it for me. It has worked out very well for me.

I believe there is the option of cutting out a small piece of the subframes on the KTM, and re-welding it to get a small reduction in seat height. However, this option is non-reversible!

Michelle & LoriKTM, thanks for the info on the pullrods/linkage--I'm a real genious about the mechanics on my bike, can't ya tell!

I've had RT set up and lower my suspension about an inch, had an inch taken out of the seat foam, lowered the front forks, and had the subframe cut & welded. I guess there isn't anything else I can do to lower it anymore. :(

geez! didn't realize I hadn't been here in so long!
Welcome Sharon...sorry I took so long!
and also to little mini YZ80...sorry, couldn't remember your name!
It's been raining so much here, we're just about to build an ark...but I'm scheduled to ride on Friday..so we'll see!
Sharon, sounds like you're doing great on the XR...I know how heavy they are, but you'll get the hang of picking it up!
My KTM is definately heavier than the YZ125...but I don't fall nearly as much on it, so it balances out!
BTW, I'm 5'2" and had my KTM lowerd 3 inches just to be able to touch tip toe on it. It totally adds to my confidence level
