I made my DRN mail work with Outlook Express! Holy cow! I think the MSN acct is working too. Ivan-I called MSN and a very nice young lady walked me through the procedure, there were a few little things. After that, it seemed to sign in and check correctly so I gave it a shot with the DRN acct. It took me about 8 tries, still not sure exactly what change made her go. But I'm in!

Well, I thought they disconnected me there for a while. After that last sesson, I couldn't even get on the net at all. Ivan, I do have some questions. I'll give you a call at work tomorrow. Something about my msn mail acct is no longer a hotmail, or web-based acct, it is a pop3 acct, now? I dunno, but it's not importing any messages for me. I'll play with it some more.
Anyhoo, we're making progress, I think!

I've never used OE, but know a few who say they delete it as soon as they get new machines.....hmmmmm.:think

Hmmm.

Ivan, when you read this, I have a new symptom for you. Seems I am importing from both accts just fine, but it is only sending from my MSN acct when I close out OE now. Man this stuff is just so freaking quirky sometimes. I don't know why I bother with it.:think

My gosh, it was almost as if I knew what I was doing! Ivan, I sent you a test messge earlier proclaiming my success, so don't lose any sleep over my last post!:D And thanks for all your help Friday. I think that's what finally got it hammered into my skull!

Brian-I am sending you an Email with what fixed your problem for me.

One last question-Is there any way to filter out spam using OE? I can no longer access my MSN acct through the web, Microsoft had to reset that acct. to a POP3-based acct. is the reason. It seems as though all the filtering I did has been removed. I'm getting like 8-10 junk Emails a day now.

Oh, gosh no!

If my parents ever got a computer, I think I'd have to slit my wrists! I don't think that the "House of flashing twelves" is ready to go digital just yet. The scary thing is that my dad was in computers for over 40 years including 23 years in the Marines, and another 20 with the DOD. And amazingly enough I get phone calls like this: "Could you come over and take a look at the lamp? It just quit working." Me: "Did you replace the bulb?" The folks: "Well, no. But it was working fine this morning. As a matter of fact, it's been working fine for about a year now..."

For the record, I love my folks. It's just that we seemed to have switched roles sometime in the last few years!
