I was shopping at target today when I came across some pro-grip tie downs. On the label there was a full color picture of a rm 125. The thing is it was green. All green plastic with a couple of grey peices thrown in. Green and black seat. Chrome but very factory looking rm 125 shroud graphics. It did not have upside down forks. I couldnt tell much else from the picture and I'm not very familier with rm's, so does anyone know what this was?

thanks

Chris

Maybe it was a '96-98 RM (I think those are the years with conventional forks) with green plastic?

I dont think so it was too factory looking and the graphics where new. plus it had the new style black on top seat cover and the new side panels.

What makes you think it was an RM 125?

It was pobably the personal bike of the owner of the tie-down company. And Suzuki has a history of making ugly bikes...<spanky ducks for cover>:p

Here it is. I was thinking all of the things that others have posted, but it is clear from the picture that it is a Suzuki RM125. My theory is they used Photoshop to change the yellows to green in order to not have too much yellow on the package since the writing for the tiedowns is all yellow.

The graphics on the tank look a bit strange, so that's what led me to think they changed the colors.

HEy thanks for the pic. What do you think about the forks? I also noticed the graphics are not 02 suzuki and the side panels are different from a 02 alsoI couldnt tell much else. Oh yeah that front fender looks like a kawasaki fender. the suzuki has a lot more shape to it. Check out how the graphics and the seat cover go together ( the green to green and black to black)

Thats a '98 RM125 with green plastic. Or like KX-727 said, the yellow plastic has been changed with the use of some photo editor.

That's definetly a '98 RM125 by how the shourld design and graphics are. I would think Suzuki would stick with USD forks in '03.

How hard is it? Just get a digital picture and fiddle with the tint a little. Viola! A green RM! I seriously doubt someone changed to green plastic, to include the tank.

Awwww man - flashbacks.

My '98 RM 125 was my VERY FAVORITE bike that I have ever owned.

I miss that bike so much... Spanky - LOL!! :)

At first... I thought maybe it had to do with the Suzuki-Kawasaki bike merger... MXA had some nice spliced together pictures of the two in their last issue.

I saw that pic when I bought my tie downs too. I was confused at first too, but it is either a 97 or 98 rm 125, because my friend has a 97 rm 250 that looks exactly like that except it is a 250

I've never done any graphic work. I just downloaded the Adobe Elements trial and did the following:

Boy I get tired of green bikes, all the guys I ride with seem to ride them, as well as my wife and son. The GasGas gets lonely. But the pic looks great, kinda a John Deere green.

My 2 cents

I seriously doubt that Suzuki would release pictures of a new bike 8 months early just so they could be used on a package for tie-downs. :D
