I purchased a rev box for my CRF450R Y05.
It works great when bike is cold.
Once bike is hot and I come in and shut it off,
I can not get the bike back on.
When Kicking after the bike gets hot, it seems to make
a back fire noise at the end of the muffler.
I kick and kick and will not turn back on.
I put the stock ignition back in, and bike turns on 1 kick.

What gives? The manufacture has sent me two others
so far and all do the same thing. By the way all the $125 rev
boxes are made by the same company - the resellers just put their stickers on it.

Can someone tell me how to get this thing to work?
When on, the bike runs cleaner, stronger, revs further. Only drawback is that it does make the bike vibrate a bit more.
I have a MDK stage 1/high comp/Yoshi TRC Pipe.

thanks,

It's not uncommon for stators to heat up and change their output. It's possible the stator has some problems and the new box isn't happy about it. The OEM box might just be more "fault" tolerant.

There is a procedure in the service manual for checking the stator. It may not tell you everything you need to know to sort out a problem with a non-OEM CDI box, but it's where I would start looking.

My question, can you really tell the difference with the rev box? I was wondering myself if they really help or hinder your bike.
