I'm thinking about taking my bike to the beach...

I just got a 2008 KTM 530 EXC-R. I love the bike. Anyhow, I want to ride it on the beach near corpus christi, tx. Is it bad to ride the bikes going through salt water? I'll definitely wash the bike after the ride to make sure that I get all the salt water off. Are there any special places that I need to clean that people miss that end up rusting?

holy crap over 9k for your bike!? i for some reason think that i would be really bad for your bike to get salt water on it but i live about as far away from any salt water as you can. if i remeber right i think i saw a enduro race and the dudes were running along side the ocean in spots. some people even fell in. deffinately dont suck any up and wash it good when you get done and lube every thing. i wouldnt get to close to the salt water with my bike.
