District 15 (Indiana) released it's Enduro schedule today.

Listed on the schedule are dates of:

June 18-Stump Jumpers MC-Wolverine, MI
June 19-Buzzard MC-Harrison, MI
It then says 2 days, 2 locations, 1 race.

Anyone have an explanation to this.????

Here is the link:

In an effort to try something different, this race will be a 2 day event. Each day will have a different starting area. The idea behind it is to make this race more attractive to out of state racers by offering 2 great rides in one weekend. Both days will feature short easy sections on some of Michigan's premier private single track (read no big sand whoops). In order to be credited with a finish, you must ride both days. Camping will be available.

Short sections - yes
Easy sections - maybe....

It will be an opportunity to ride some of the best enduro trails in Michigan.
Of course, if you make the trip to Marquette, you will have ridden ALL of the best enduro trails in the state.

I cut and pasted the info directly from the D14 website, I have my own suspicions of "easy sections"

I'm going to try and put this one on my calendar. Of you michigan guys, who's racing? Who's working/promoting, and who's going to offer up pit support? This sounds like a really fun race.

What will I need? (for the race?)
Here's what I have:
Valid Liscense plate and registration
Current AMA membership
Expired SERA membership
no proof of insurance
quiet bike with opperating head and tail light
(I can probably throw on a cheap bicycle mirror if needed)

What else?

Depends on the checker at tech inspection...

Easy things that will help the cause
Cheap bicycle horn
Cheap mirror
Spark arrestor

Things that will probably slide, but are really required
Proof of insurance
Brake light (actuated by both front and rear lever)
Driver's license w/ cycle endorsement
Hi / low beam

I just found out that the CCC kids camp starts June 18 at Whiskey Creek... .same day. Don't know if I can drop the kid off, get him squared away, and still make the race. Hopefully they'll have a late key time.

Bring:
1. Money
2. Gear
3. Gas
4. Your bike, preferably in running condition
5. You got what ya need on the bike, lets just say tech ain't too tough. You assume the risk with the local authorities.
6. Maybe we can help with pits if you get a number near us. *Team PTP is quite an expert operation and we will be racing.
7. I can probably see to it that you don't starve.
8. We may have a spot for you to sleep if you don't have a tent.

Our plan is to set up camp in Harrison and commute to Wolverine in the morning and come back to Harrison for day #2.

The key time on both days will be later than usual. I think an afternoon key is planned for Saturday to allow for travel time and the Sunday key time should be late morning (11:00?).

Here is how much thought went into the details of this event. This weekend will include the longest days of the year and provide the most sun light available. The late start times should not be a problem with the shorter distances.

Tim, it will be worth the trip!

Ok, let's see. Bike horn, simple. Mirror, no problem. Spark Arrestor, already got on.

Oh, I have a driver's license with motorcycle endorsement.
These are things that I might not fool with: Proof of insurance, brake light and hi/low beam. We'll see.

What about ORV sticker? Mine will probably be expired by then.

Thanks Fred, I was pretty sure that I could hook up with you guys. I need to put the wheels in motion and clear this with the spousal unit. Shouldn't be too much of a problem though. Sounds like something to look forward too.

Fred, is ya'lls row full? How about I get on the row behind you? :nener:

Tim, An ORV sticker is not required for the race, but if you plan to do any trail riding in Michigan - get one. Your current sticker will expire before June.
