Has anyone had insurance coverage for these braces? My doc will write a prescription for the braces (CTI does this regularly), is there a procedure in place for doing it this way with Asterisks? i.e., where do you buy them, how does reimbursement work, etc.

Also, how durable and protective is the knee cap area? Is it similar to a good quality kneeguard (like the AXO or Fox hinged kneeguards)

Thanks

i contacted my insurance and asked them about it. they are in a class called Durable Medical Equipment. my ins gave me about 10 places around me to go that would be in network and could custom fit the braces and bill the Ins. for it.

I'm just waiting for my doctors appointment to get the ball rolling.

Asterisk braces are sold "over the counter", therefore not usually covered by insurance.
